if you will be supervising then it wouldn't matter. However if you have no plans to intervene then keep in mind the display can shatter into sharp pieces, in some circumstances even with a "protective" case
Hi Toniann3224. I'm not sure if this is appropriate at all. But I'd recommend a low-cost Android tablet, probably a store brand, like Insignia at Best Buy. This would be much more suitable than an Apple iPad. iPads are always on the edge of technology, and they can be a little delicate, and complex.
Leapfrog make a tablet as well for kids, it's a tank - and from what I'm reading on their site it's not a shabby system for the price. It also has a long list of educational application from educational developers so it may be a better alternative to an Apple device that was not designed with toddlers in mind to begin with,
I would buy a protective case just in case he throws it. Kids tend to like to throw things. I recommend getting a life proof case, I have used otterbox but the screen tends to break easily with them.
