Slow is relative. Slow for certain tasks? Slow with certain programs? Slow all the time?

How full is the had drive? if it is nearly full, that can slow performance.

How much RAM is installed. That model shipped with only 2GB RAM but OS 10.10 (as shown in your profile) needs more. Your model can officially recognize 4GB RAM and, unofficially, six GB.

We can't know these sort of details unless you describe them. You can do a "one-stop service" that will answer most of these questiosn by postings a "snapshot" of you configuration. Fortunately there is a safe and secure way to do that.

A respected and long-serving member of these communities has created a simple utility that will take that "snapshot" of your configuration without revealing any sensitive information about you and your computer. It is Etrecheck, and is available here:

http://etrecheck.com/

Run it and, when its report displays, click Etrecheck's "Share Report" icon and then "Copy Report" from the resulting dropdown. Paste the entire report into a response to your own thread here. It will often allow us to quickly identify or eliminate software as the problem.
