iPhone 8 will not go to sleep

Please Apple, fix this. I refer you to Exhibit Forum A:

Many of us are having this problem: our iPhone 8 will not go to sleep and we have to manually press the auto lock button. We try your suggestions of switching it from 30 seconds to a minute and then back again. There are temporary fixes of doing hard resets or software updates but those only work for a a couple of weeks or so.

My case in particular: my auto lock is set to 1 minute. I have no animation in my wallpaper or whatever. I have tried hard resets and software updates. This is clearly a major bug.

The forum above in particular was marked “solved” on October 23rd but there have been many posts since then and no answer from apple. Please help us!!
