My iPad Air (1st Gen) is completely bricked after updating to iOS 11. The iPad won't even power up. I have tried all the combinations pressing Sleep and Home buttons, connecting to iTunes and nothing works. Went to the Genius Bar and the guy gave up faster than I could spell out "Genius Bar"!
First time that I am having these problems with any of my multiple Apple devices.

Go back to your “local” Apple Store and escalate your iPad issues and help to a higher level Apple employee.
They didn’t even do diagnostic tests on the battery to see if the battery is dead of faulty?
A battery replacement is only $99 U.S.D.!
Go back to the store and escalate the issues to the Apple Store manager, if you have to.

I did ask the specialist if they could run any tests on the internal electrical/electronic components but he said they can't run those tests on my device (because it's a 3 years old model). Oh, and I forgot to mention that he suggested I should get a replacement model ($249 plus taxes) or buy one of the new ones. I reckon I have to make another trip to Genius Bar and hope I get some help this time. This *****!!
Yeah,
Your only other options WOULD be the replacement, refurbished iPad Air for an “out of warranty” 60% of its original, OEM price.
OR
A new iPad model.
