Question: Fan speed increases while editing photos

I am using Mac Book Air mid 2012 model and MacOS Sierra 10.13.1.

Whenever I use Photos in edit mode the fan speed increases. (no problem while viewing photos).

Kindly suggest a solution.

MacBook Air, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

Please read About fans and fan noise in your Apple product - Apple Support.

If the fan speed returns to normal after performing processor-intensive activity such as editing photos, your Mac is probably working exactly as it should work. Read See how apps affect Mac performance, battery runtime, temperature, and fan activity - Apple Support.

Hi, Thanks for the reply. However the Mac heats up very quickly and the Photos app hangs. Other apps work fine. I have to force quit the app, allow the Mac to cool down and then I can get back to editing.

I did not have this problem with earlier versions of Mac OS hence wondering if this is problem only with Sierra?
