ipad

i have a older ipad that i want to give to grand daughter its version 5.1.1 . i am trying to update to a later version

when i try to update i get a message that it is up to date

iPad Wi-Fi + Cellular, iOS 5.1.1

If its a first generation iPad (no camera), then it cannot be updated past iOS 5.1.1.
