Merge account

For my Apple ID I have one email address, and then for iCloud I couldn’t remember my password of the email address, so I had to make a new email and everything. But now I can switch the iCloud account under the same as my Apple ID because it said the email is already linked to another apple account. Does anyone have any idea how to fix

appleid and icloud id is the same thing you are attempting to make 2 appleID's using the same email you can't do that

not even sure if you can successfully use an ios device where icloud appleID is different then the app store appleid

Why not use your existing Apple ID for iCloud? You can't create an Apple (iCloud) ID using an e-mail address associated with an other Apple ID or one that has been used with an Apple ID in the last year. You will need a new e-mail address.
