How can I change my ical alert from defaulting to sending an email?

Hello All -


How can I change my ical calendar on Mac OS X from defaulting to sending an email alert? I simply want an alert that pops up on my computer / phone. I do not want it to send an email. See screen shot below

This method was applied in Mac OS High Sierra10.13.1

Created an event in calendar application .

User uploaded file

Clicked on add invitees .

The mail address and contact details must be previously added in the address book .

Type the contact name in the field of add invitees , it will be added to delete it right click on drop down arrow and click on remove invitee .
