Imei number

If it's a fake phone' knocked up in some backstreet workshop.

Briansyddall is correct in suggesting how to determine the imei number on the phone you are using. If that is what you mean by 'of the system'

Then if the number on that phone itself differs, then it's a fake. Where did you get it from and when?

From an Apple store? Or an Apple authorised store. Was it at a bargain price?

Consider taking it back and showing them what you have discovered and without a satisfactory reason, ask for your money back.

Could you answer the question I asked earlier about whether it was an Apple store or an authorised Apple store or any other kind of store.

I am trying to determine if you have possibly been scammed. Did you get a receipt and did that have a serial number on it. Was it in an Apple sealed box as if it was new, or had it been used?

Imei numbers should match if printed/engraved on the same item.
