iphone X CarPlay issues

I'm having the same issue. 2017 Vauxhall Astra. My old iPhone 7 was working fine with Apple Carplay, but my new iPhone X does not. Apple play cuts out after about 10 mins while using apple maps. I don't know if this is an iOS version issue or is specific to the iPhone X

I did Erase All Content and Settings and chose not to restore from backup, instead setting my iPhone X up as a new phone. It still disconnects when using CarPlay. My previous iPhone worked perfectly with CarPlay. The iPhone feedback web site Feedback - iPhone - Apple doesn't even have iOS 11.2 listed, so i can't report this. Please can this bug be fixed. Thanks.

I have a similar issue with my iPhone X connected via Lightning Cable to my Volkswagen Sharan 2016.

CarPlay works well for some amount of time but then suddenly disconnects and connects again. This happens very sporadic, sometimes not for half an hour and sometimes twice within 10 minutes.

I got not problem with my old iPhone 7 and the iPhone 6s of my wife. My new iPhone X works perfectly with the CarPlay of my friends Volkswagen Passat 2016.

Similar issues here as well. Connecting my iPhone X via Lightning Cable to my Volkswagen Golf 2017 cause problems and make Carplay more or less unusable.

Connecting the phone via cable while listening to radio automatically switches over to Carplay screen and stops sound from radio. (with my previous Iphone 6s radio sound was not interupted when connecting phone). Trying to switch back to radio by pushing the Radio button on the VW screen works for a few seconds then Carplay takes control again and stops radio sound. After that Carplay sometimes enters a loop where it toggles radio sound on and off. Only solution is to pull the lightning cable out from the phone to abort Carplay use.

Thanks. I will give it a try since I’m using a different cable. When I first used the cable it came with CarPlay only worked when playing music. Nothing else in car play worked. When I changed to an aftermarket cable everything worked but it would cut in and out as it did with the factory cable. The phone and radio have the latest updates in them since I went to the aftermarket cable.

does it connect again afterwards or does it just stop working?

My Phone immediately reconnects and then works for some minutes until it disconnects and connects again ... and so on

It seems to stop working after about 10 mins, and the maps continue on the iPhone screen.

Same symptoms with Alpine ilx-007 and new iPhone X. I wish Alpine would do a firmware update

Updating to iOS 11.2 has not made any difference. This issue is not res
