Sudden battery drainage every few minutes

My iPhone 6 plus runs on 11.1.1. After the last update I noticed it is draining battery every few minutes. It has been exactly 3 years since I bought the phone, but even couple of weeks back I was getting good battery life. I checked background app refresh, nothing is enabled. I am not a heavy user per se. I occasionally check WhatsApp, FB, use Apple news and Flipboard. I used Safari much recently for couple of days to read some reviews, and I saw that Safari is using the battery most, more than 90%.

Any advice please ?

Thanks.

Hi, this does not help. Suddenly within 2 weeks battery cannot behave erratically like mine is. Everything was satisfactory 2 weeks back. This has to be the iOS update 11.1.1. Now updated to 11.1.2, no improvement so far.

I found this is already an issue with 11.1.1, here is the link:

Hi I found one thing which can be a potential issue I am not sure.

My WhatsApp app has been showing background activity for some considerable amount of time, which is more than what I have been spending on WhatsApp, even though I have background app refresh disabled. Is this normal?

My 4 year old iPad (2013 Oct) does not show this kind of battery depletion which my 3 year old iPhone 6+ is showing, both running latest iOS version!!

Thanks,

Arpan
