Copy-paste from Pages into Google Docs

Hello,

I am experiencing formatting issue when copying text from the Pages App into a Google Document through the Google Drive app. I have searched about the issue on Google in general, but I have yet to see someone mentioning this.

The issue is as follows:

When I have copied a body of text from Pages and pasted it into a Google Document, any adjustment I make to any of the copied text (ex. make It bold, change the font size or change the font type) affects all of the copied text.

That is to say, if I want to make the header bold, the entire text becomes bold. Or if I want to make a word in the text into italics, the entire text changes to italics.

The only workaround I've found is to copy the text from Google Doc into the Notepad on a windows device, removing all the formatting, then repasting it into a new Google Document (as there is a chance if I repaste it into the same google doc, the issue will persist). This has led me to belive there are a blob of invisible formatting containing the copied text, which Google Doc in turn can't quite handle and make it treat all the copied text as a singular entity/object.

Have anyone else run into this problem before? And if so, is there some way to copy the text from pages without any formatting?
