Internal Mic no longer working after High Sierra Upgrade

My internal mic is no longer working after upgrading to High Sierra and I see many other users have this same un-resolved issue?

I have an early 2011 17" MacBook Pro. I've tried trashing audio prefs, reset pram. I have succesfully used my iphone headphones, mic. Tried different users.

This seems to be a problem. I need to do quicktime, screen recordings and I'm not getting any audio.

Please help.

You should report the issue to Apple so they can address it in a future update: Feedback - macOS - Apple

Does the built-in mic appear as a sound input source but you can’t get audio, or doesn’t it appear at all?
