Hi,
I upgraded my MacBook Air to macOS 10.13.1 High Sierra and now my Mail program is not working at all.
It crushes every time I try to start it.
What steps should I take to resolve this problem?

OK, another thing to try:
1. Open Finder
2. Hold the option key and then select Go > Library from the menu
3. Go to Containers > com.apple.mail > Data > Library > Saved Application State
4. Remove the subfolder com.apple.mail.savedState
5. Try again to launch Mail
I did everything you said.
I sent the subfolder com.apple.mail.savedState to Trash and emptied Trash.
I started Mail, it opened for half a second and crushed again.
.....
I rebooted my Macbook Air.
I clicked Mail, it opened and crushed again in a blink of an eye.
Sorry........

Does Mail give you any error message when it crashes, or does it just hang there beachballing?
It only says: "Mail quit unexpectedly" with options: "Ignore", "Send Report" and "Reopen".
I tried several times all of these options but it didnt change anything.

Try launching Mail and then immediately holding the shift key. Keep holding it until Mail opens. This will put Mail into safe mode. Does it launch this way?
I tried several times now with the SHIFT key, as you said.
It opens for half a second and crushes the same as before.
Go to System Preferences > Internet Accounts and uncheck the Mail option for all accounts in the list. Does Mail launch now? If so, re-enable the accounts one by one until you encounter the crash.
