how do I remove my old iPhone from iTune. I have deactivated the device in the cloud but iTune (client side) still sees the old iPhone

bought a new iPhone and after setting everything up, I am trying to clean out iTune to remove my old phone. Was able to inactivate the old phone in the cloud but iTune on my computer is still seeing the old phone. How to I remove it from iTune so that it don't detect it anymore?
