The only thing I can think of is to try Internet Recovery. You can invoke this by either Command+Option+R or Shift+Command+Option+R.
What you want to see is the installer for the OS that your 2011 shipped with. Any version that you previously installed that is equal to or later than 10.12.5 would have changed your key options to Shift+Command+Option+R for this. You can see what I'm talking about here.
If you're unable to do Internet Recovery, the only thing I would suggest then is to take it to an Apple Store - Genius Bar and see what they can do.
Restore your system from a back up you hopefully made prior to installing High Sierra.
I'm not even available to do that... tried to restore it from an image that I have and now it's worse... can't erase and reinstall macOS can't even see the macintosh HD anymore from disk utilities...
