Podcast app not updating on lock screen or control center.

I've noticed since the iOS 11 update that my podcast app isn't updating on the lock screen.The app itself keeps track of what I am/am not listening too but as soon as I lock my phone, a couple things happen.

Either, no podcast shows at all as if I am not listening to one when I am... or it will show a podcast on my lock screen but it will be the wrong podcast... EXAMPLE - I paused "Punch Drunk Sports" and started listening to "GWF," and my lock screen showed that PDS was playing and tracking that there was 12 minutes left (and counting down from this) when that podcast wasn't even on and I had an hour left to GWF at the time... and when I was actually listening to PDS before pausing it and moving on, no podcast was showing in my lock screen at all.

Also, my podcast never shows up on control center, I have to open the app to pause... my control center always says "music" which is basically useless.

Anyone have this problem or know how to solve it? I tried a hard restart of my phone (iPhone 6S) but it made no difference.
