beddit and health not talking

Following moving from iPhone 7 Plus to a new iPhone X I find that Beddit no longer sends data to Apple's Health app. Both Beddit and Health show that they are connected. Beddit's settings page indicates that all configuration is handled through Health. Health shows Beddit as a source, but provides no configuration options.

Has anyone else run across this issue and found a solution? I have lots of prior data from Beddit that I don't want to lose and am reluctant to delete and reinstall Beddit.

Hi Chet Rindfuss,

I understand that you're not seeing data from your Beddit app sync with the Health app on your iPhone since upgrading to an iPhone X. I know it's important to have your Health data sync from compatible apps and I'd like to help. I'd recommend disabling Beddit as a Source from your Health app and enabling it again. This will not affect the data stored in the Beddit app that you don't want to lose, but may help with getting Beddt and the Health app to sync again. To do this open the Health app and tap Health Data. Select Sleep > Sleep Analysis, scroll down and tap Data Sources & Access. From here disable Beddit under "Apps Allowed to Read Data" wait a few moments and enable it again and that it appears in "Data Sources"

Once you've re-added Beddit as a source, be sure to check that it's priority is set where you'd like it to be as well:

User uploaded file

Prioritize your data sources

You can edit and rearrange your data sources to change the way that Health prioritizes data.

  1. Open the Health app and tap Health Data.
  2. Tap a category, like Activity.
  3. Tap a data type, like Steps.
  4. Tap Data Sources & Access and tap Edit.
  5. Touch and hold User uploaded file next to a data source and move it up or down in the list.

The data source that you place at the top will take priority over other sources that contribute that type of data. Any new apps or devices that you add will appear at the top of the list, above your iPhone or iPod touch by default. You can change the order of your data sources anytime.

To turn off a data source so that it doesn't contribute any more data for that category, tap the checkmark next to the data source.

Learn how to manually add data to the Health app.

Manage Health data from multiple sources on your iPhone, iPod touch, or Apple Watch

Let me know what you find.

Best Regards.

joe_7399 thank you for the response.

I managed to get it working just before receiving your reply using a similar approach.

The problem as I see it was that when I transferred from my iPhone 7+ to the iPhone X, none of the apps connected to Health were connected. I had to go into each of them and reconnect. The problem with Beddit was that the connection dialog did not show up in Beddit. Instead Beddit told me it was connected and to go to the Health app and change the configuration there. In Health no configuration panel showed for Beddit because Health didn't think it was connected. In poking around I didn't see the option to disconnect indicated by joe_7399--I just didn't follow that path.

I tried two approaches. One was to logout of my Beddit account and then back in. There was a report I read indicating that process would force a re-sync of the data. That approach didn't work. Health just did not think it was connected to Beddit. Beddit continued to say it was connected. The Beddit app indicated that data for my account was backed up so I deleted Beddit from my iPhone X and then reinstalled it. Went through the set up panels and then in Beddit configuration connected to Health. Because the fresh install of Beddit was not connected the connection panel came up and I was able to establish the connection. Health showed that Beddit was now connected and my data showed up in Health as expected. When I deleted the Beddit app I was careful to selected the option to keep Beddit data in the Health app.

Based on this experience with Beddit and the other apps I had connected to Health it appears that connection data does not successfully transfer when transferring to a new iPhone. Will have to watch for this issue in the future and be prepared to reconnect apps.

It is not possible to disable and then enable!

You can only remove data from healt app and beddit as a source still remain but not working.

So now I lost all my beddit data in healt app and it is not possible to reinstall beddit any more because then I would loose that data also from there !

This bug should be fixed asap propably all my healt data sources dont work ?

How do I get beddit to communicate now ????

Beddit is now apple company and their good support dissappeared immediatelly when apple come to picture.

Managed to solve the problem by reinstalling beddit app, thanks to clever design app can save the data in account so I did not loose it.

Then I had to reinstall also other apps using healt app data and also my bluetooth scale and omron bluetooth bloodpressure meters app, that did not save its data so now after reinstall that app lost all its data, not good even I still have old data in helat app.

Apple should really fix this bug, it affects all healt app users when bying a new iPhone.

I really dont want repeat this process with the next iphone.
