iPhone Email issue

Apple 6+ Email stopped working after 11.1.1. update, tried turning on and off, airplane mode, they both worked the first time and occasionally worked, but for the most part do not work. Multiple times deleted and re entered email account. And with tech support help, reloaded the update onto iPhone. I use roadrunner, a web based email. My question, did anyone else have this issue, and if so how was it resolved? Thank you.
