Mid-2012 MacBook Pro running very slow

Hi

Would appreciate any help with this. I have run a check with Etre and pasted the report below. I will follow the advice within it but any further insights on what I might do to speed things up would be much appreciated. Startup after a Restart can take 30 minutes or more and the speed once started is very variable - generally very slow after startup but then a little faster.

Thanks in advance!

Solution: replace your hard-drive with an SSD.

I have a MBP mid-2012 and experienced many of the same problems until I upgraded the hard-drive with and SSD.

Until then, Use only the default OS X apps.

I found that apps that "files sync" grenerate allot read/writes to the hard-drive there by bogging it down.

Apps like dropbox, safari, chrome, iCloud, google drive, adobe updater, etc.

Solution is to open each app and access its settings and disable "file syncing" of files, bookmarks, photos, etc.

If you have many accounts on many computers this becomes worse.

Just try using the default OS X apps for now.

The true solution would be to replace your hard-drive with an SSD.

I no longer experience beech balls and my MBP works fine. 10 times Better than NEW.

8gb. of ram is fine. 16gb. of ram is just max.
