Why can't I airdrop to other iphone

I have 6s and wife has iphone 7. Both are up to date with IOS 11.1.1. Both of us were cleaning house of unwanted pictures on Photos. I needed to airdrop a few of mine to hers, but her iphone does not show up. I checked the settings on both iphones and they are the same with accepting/sending airdrop to everyone. The only receiver of airdrop that shows on my iphone is my iMac. Neither her iphone nor her MacBook shows. Before the upgrades to IOS 11, we were able to airdrop easily between our phone.

iPhone 6s, iOS 11, 16 Gb

I have had issues as well.

Here are some things to try:

Make sure both phones are logged into iCloud.

Make sure each phone has the Apple ID of the other person included in Contacts.

Do a forced restart of both phones.

These were suggested by Apple Support and may assist.

JimmyCMPIT,

Followed your suggestion and did all that the link suggested. The only change was now MY ipad showed as a possible receiver of airdrop photos. My wife's iphone still does not show

I am so having the same problem. I have done all the suggested resets and I just dont know what the problem is. If you figure it out please let me know.... 🙂

I’ve done all this, including re-signing out/in of iCloud and wife’s phone not showing on mine. I can airdrop from her’s to mine, however
