Shut down
Disconnect all external devices
reset the smc

reset the NVRAM

then boot into safe mode

then reboot normally with devices disconnected.

If your using wireless Keyboard and Mouse or Trackpad, go to: Apple > System Preferences > Bluetooth > select Advanced and make sure "Allow Bluetooth devices to wake this computer" is checked and then click OK
If "Allow Bluetooth devices to wake this computer" is already checked, un-check it, re-check it and click OK.
