Can I delete Garage Band from my MacBookPro?

Yes, you can. But the app itself does not use much storage. Most of the storage used by GarageBand is used by the loops, the instruments, and by the lessons. These items are stored in the Library folder.

Look for

/Library/Application Support/GarageBand/ - this is where the instruments and lessons are stored

and

/Library/Audio/Apple Loops/ - this is where the loops are stored.


Some items may be installed in the corresponding folders in your user library in your Home folder too.


If you do not use Logic Pro X or MainStage, you can delete theses folders as well, not only GarageBand, and recover several GB of storage used for the audio files.


The easiest way to remove these items would be from the -menu > About this Mac > Storage > Manage.

Click "Music Creation" to remove these items:
