magic trackpad won't connect to iMac after High Sierra upgrade

I upgraded my 5k iMac(2015) to High Sierra last night and my magic trackpad(original version) will no longer connect. I have multiple trackpads(same model) I have tried and none of them will connect.

I tried opening the bluetooth system preferences menu, disconnecting them and re-pairing them and no luck. I can get them to show in the list of available devices but after selecting connect it always fails. Tried resetting P-Ram, tried booting into safe mode, nothing I have tried has worked so far.
