reading panel in email is black in high sierra for some emails.
Marking the message as unread does not restore visibility. If such message has an attachment, I can't see or save it.
It also happens if 2 or more emails are "stacked" - in that case clicking on individual email restores visibility.
MacBook Air, macOS High Sierra (10.13.1)
"Recalibrating" the display has been reported to fix it: (Apple menu) > Displays > Color > Calibrate... Try that.
