Just a heads up. When dictation is on, it interferes with Adobe Illustrator controls. Might be a fix to consider. I spent some time today figuring this all out. Crazy stuff. Hope this helps someone.

what version of the OS and what version of Illustrator?
are you talking about the cursor corruption in 10.13 and Il 2018? that was addressed in a supplemental update for OS X 10.13 and again with 10.13.1's incremental update. Are you still seeing an issue? If so I already reported I could reproduce it after those updates to Apple about a week ago but have not yet heard back from the developers. Toggling dictation and shutting down the Mic volume to nothing appears to clear it out.
