Recording EXACT time room tone

Hello,

I am trying to figure out how to record *exactly* 2.5 seconds of room tone.

I record something close and when I look at the asset, although showing as time, it does not allow me to edit to 2.5.

Any ideas or guidance?

Thanks,

Steve

You need to be in the track editor... Press E or click the icon shown and make sure you are in track not file.

Then use the marquee tool to select the exact time you want...

You'll see the start and end times in a little pop up window. I have a video showing this but don't see how to attach it here. If needed I can send it to you directly.

Hopefully that description will help though.

Hi Steve,

If I'm following correctly, you are trying to record approx 2.5 sec of room tone then edit it down to exactly 2.5 sec. If that's the case, try using the track editor and select exactly 2.5 sec, I like to use the marquee tool. I have it set to be the lower half of the waveform. Probably other ways to do the same thing but that's what I find easy. You can then do what ever you want with that 2.5 sec from there.

Good luck,

Steve
