Can't find word count in Pages 6.3.1

Question

I had been using the word count function in Pages up until 6.3.1, but now it is gone. I see that someone else had the same problem.

I have tried View, and it is not there, nor it is in the View pane. And Page Count gives me just that, a count of the number of pages, not words.

Any help is appreciated.

Hi Ted,

Display the page count, hover your mouse to the right of the pop-up:

Click on the double-pointer and you can switch to the count of your choice:
