Why is "QuickTime Plugin.plugin" Disabled?

I feel Curious. When I saw the folder "Macintosh SSD > Library > Internet Plug-ins > Disabled Plug-ins", "QuickTime Plugin.Plugin" is there.

(It is there in Disabled Plug-ins, along-with nsIQTScriptablePlugin.xpt. Whatever _that_ does!) Thank you.

Why is "QuickTime Plugin.plugin" Disabled?

Some years ago major browser manufacturers decided to modernize their software by including support for HTML5 media playback. Some website programmers quickly embraced the new coding possibilities and immediately began to reprogram their web pages while others delayed the process of recoding their content for a period ranging from several months to years. After a few years, some browser applications totally dropped plug-in support altogether. Apple opted to allow users to decide for themselves whether Safari should support HTML5 exclusively or retain use of the plug-in if needed for certain legacy-only websites by disabling the plug-in but leaving it available to the user if required for a particular site.
