With any app that is open, from the bottom of the iPhone, swipe halfway up your screen and hold your finger there a moment. This will bring up the task row of recently used apps. Now, with your finger hold it on any individual app until you see a - sign appear on all the apps. From there you can either tap the - sign or swipe the apps up to close them.
