Bluetooth issue

I'm having an issue with Bluetooth on my 2011 MacBook Pro. I am running High sierra. Whenever I am listening to music on Spotify, with my Bose QuietComfort 35-headphones(that work via bluetooth connection), and press the pause button when a song is playing, to watch an YouTube video, it also cuts the sound of the video. The video sound only plays when I press play on Spotify or the keyboard again, but then the song continues too. The only walkaround is to turn Bluetooth on and off. Anyone else have similar experiences or fixes?
