Recredit or transfer of iTunes credit.

I’m relocating from Australia to the USA at short notice (six weeks) for work, and I’ve got $150 AUD credit on iTunes. Can I transfer it to the US store on arrival? I’ve heard I’ll lose my current purchases when I update my account to my new US address. Any advice?

No. You won't be able to change iTunes Store countries without spending or zeroing it.

Your purchases will remain on your computer and iOS devices, but you won't be able to freely redownload music or video content.
