If your MacBook/Pro can utilize a later Mac OS X than poor old Lion 10.7.5, much newer is advised.

OS X Lion (10.7) - Apple (see Store online - order to get download/product code for app store)

//www.apple.com/shop/product/D6106Z/A/os-x-lion $19.99 {As yours shipped with Lion, you

may have to use different method to re-install; or get the newer free El Capitan or later.}

See the following link, several possible options are covered.

Your MacBook/Pro should be able to use a newer system than 10.7 Lion. Perhaps El Capitan?

See the specification (and link to get) for 10.11.6 OS X El Capitan... Your Mac likely can use it.

How to download OS X El Capitan - Apple Support

Depending on what your MacBook/Pro presently has running, you may be able to get & use 10.11.6

or go beyond; check specs to see hardware if any upgrade parts are required, for High Sierra 10.13.

Good luck & happy trails! 🙂
