Question: MBP 15" Touch ID not working

I purchased my MBP 15" last weekend? I have set up Touch ID and identified to have Touch ID work to unlock computer, Apple Pay, iTunes and App Store. However, I never get requested to use the finger print/Touch ID. For all these activities and all others I am required to enter the password each time. Any reason why Touch ID is not working? What do I need to get it to work correctly?

If you already have an understanding of the ins and outs of Touch ID and it's not working for you, it might be that you have to set up a new fingerprint.
