Facetime

My boyfriend got a new iPhone tonight. We turned it on and got it set up. As I saved his number the option to FaceTime him didn’t come up. But it allows him to FaceTime me? I just can’t call him. I’ve checked both our phones. Everything is on. Any help?

Just in case…

With 'Everything is on' you mean what's described in the 'Turn your phone number on or off for your iPad or iPod touch' section of 'Add or remove your phone number in Messages or FaceTime - Apple Support'?
