I cannot remember my MacBook Pro login password. How can I reset my password? So aggravated now

Hi. I have a 2011 MacBook Pro and I cannot remember my log in password to get in (it’s been a couple of years because I need a new battery. As long as I am plugged in to electricity I can use it. Is there any way to recover a login password?

MacBook Pro, iOS 10, not sure if iOS 10 is correct!!

I'm understanding from your post you're unable to remember your login password to your Mac and would like to know if there is a way to recover it.
