Message Creation from Contacts

When you select a contact and click options to create message, the message text box is not opening but only the message header is getting opened. This is becoming tedious and you need to again select the name and then message again..I am using latest IOS (11) in iphone 7. Have anyone noticed and found a solution. I have sent feedback to Apple long back but no reply yet.
