Safari on Sierra and and High Sierra do not scroll at all.

I have been having trouble with Safari since the latest Sierra update where the browser doesn't scroll at many websites, particularly those using CMS editing / WYSIWYG tools on web pages. I figured upgrading to High Sierra might do the trick, but it does not. I do not have any extensions being used on my application.

Help. I have to use Chrome to work on projects.

Thanks in advance.

Safari/Preferences/Advanced - enable the Develop menu, then go there and Empty Caches. Quit/reopen Safari and test. Then try Safari/History/Show History and delete all history items. Quit/reopen Safari and test. You can also try try Safari/Clear History…. The down side is it clears all cookies. Doing this may cause some sites to no longer recognize your computer as one that has visited the web site. Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db and move it to the trash.

Go to Safari Preferences/Extensions and turn all extensions off. Test. If okay, turn the extensions on one by one until you figure out what extension is causing the problem.

Try running this program in your normal account, then copy and paste the output in a reply. The program was created by etresoft, a frequent contributor. Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read. On the screen with Options, please open Options and check the bottom 2 boxes before running. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy Report” and then paste into a reply. This will show what is running on your computer. No personal information is shown.

There's currently a server problem for that website, try this archived version : How to fully reset Safari or Google's cache of it : https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:g2MlQCNbkwgJ:https://www.m acissues.com/2015/06/22/how-to-fully-res…

You might also test after disabling ZoomUsPlugIn since it's a per-user plugin, and you say the problem doesn't show for another user.

I understand you, and yet there it is; listed in the etrecheck report you posted earlier… It should be visible in Safari -Preferences - Websites - Plug-ins although may not be enabled at all, or allowed on the sites you're having problems with.

Looks like the problem is with Safari version associated with your user account.

There is a freestanding beta version of Safari titled "Safari Technology Preview".

This can be run concurrently.

To download it, click the the "Develop" in the Safari menu bar and click "Safari Technology Preview"

at the bottom of the dropdown. Install and try it.

Best.

Safari on Sierra and and High Sierra do not scroll at all.
