Face unlock and using iPhone X in landscape?

Anyone who really can use iPhone X in landscape except for single tasks such as looking at videos or playing games? But even then face unlock doesn’t seem to work!?

Swiping between apps, even Apple’s stock apps Settings, Camera, Telephone, Clips, Music don’t support landscape which makes it nearly impossible to use the iPhone X held/mounted in landscape as 50% does... I think the best use for such a “tall/long” screen would be in landscape mode, but Apple has really made it non user friendly and counter intuitive.
