Not able to connect to WiFi

I have a brand new out of the box iPod Touch 6th gen, 16GB. It shows up in iTunes just fine when I hard connect to my MacBook, but when I try to connect to my WiFi and enter the password (which I KNOW is right), both "join" buttons are grayed out. So I can't get past that screen. What am I missing?
