Question: iPhone X earpiece making crackling sound at high volume

My iPhone X earpiece is making a crackling sound from 70% sound level onwards. Crackling sound comes while playing a video, music, ringtone, alarm and even on putting a call on speaker. What should be done further? Will apple be able to fix it via a software update? Or should I replace my phone?

Have you got the latest ios update 11.1.2?

If you still have a problem make an appointment at Apple store For checking.

I would make an appointment and visit an Apple Store.

At the very least there you can try one of their demo phones to see if it's yours or if they all have the same issue; if it's just yours you can have it replaced.

Yes, after going through many websites and forums it seems to be quite a widespread issue. I will wait for a few days to see if apple acknowledges the issue, if they don’t then i shall opt for replacement. Thanks.

Yes I am still with my phone. Almost all the phones are affected. I even checked all the phones at the apple store. For me it seems like a hardware iissue. It is high irresponsible from apple to not acknowledge the issue that is so wide spread.
