Hi Steven,
I've had a similar problem like this once, here is what I did.
This will reset safari like new without removing bookmarks or history and should take care of the anysearchmanager problem. If you have extensions that you use and trust, you will need to reinstall them after the clean. A computer restart maybe required after so make sure any unsaved work is saved and closed.
- Go to: Adware Removal Pro for Mac
- Click "Free Download" (The Mac Store link will cost you)
- Once downloaded and installed, quit Safari
- Open Adware Removal Pro
- Greenlight Safari and "Remove Adware from your Mac"
- Finally click Clean
I did not get prompted for upgrade to complete the clean so this will hopefully be fast, easy and free.
Enjoy your day!

Try the Etrecheck App and publish the report if it doesn't remove it as part of the report process.

If your OS is 10.11 El Capitan or higher, try Malwarebytes.
I suggest you do NOT use the above recommended 'Cleaner' under any circumstances. The fact that it is a relation to an App store app is not a recommendation. If you dig in the search box of the forums you will see why I write this. My recommendations above are the only apps recommended for macs by the senior members here, that means members way above myself.
Hi iMatthewD,
Thank you to recommend my free tool: Adware Removal Pro for Mac

Just so readers know: I have no intension of bringing harm to your Mac, I simply posted what I had to do for the fix to this problem and had no problems with my system since. I had a senior advisor from Apple Support run diagnostic tests after these steps to make sure nothing was damaged or corrupted and came up clean and no faults anywhere.
Please ignore my previous comment as I am unable to report or delete it myself and follow instructions by Seventy One that are supported by senior members to ensure your devices safety if you do not wish to take risks not supported by them.
Hi iMatthewD,
Thank you very much to clarify my app. They may suspect you are a fake customer, but I know you are real. Anyway, I will continue to provide the best free utility Adware Removal Pro for Mac to help customers.

Hi Steven, I found the "anysearchmanager" listed among my extensions in Safari. Once I removed the "anysearchmanager" from the list of extensions in Safari and restarted Safari the "anysearchmanager" was gone! I didn't need to install anything. I hope this works for you.
Hi Paul,
This adware not only installs the extension on your safari, but also deploys a auto-start program on your system. If you don't remove the adware program and reboot system, you may find anysearchmanager come back.
The above app has potential to interfere with your system. I stronly advise that members ignore infosee's recommendation.
why is it free?
So far, this is the only program (adware removal tool) I've found that locates and removes anysearchmanager.
