Hi Steven,

I've had a similar problem like this once, here is what I did.

This will reset safari like new without removing bookmarks or history and should take care of the anysearchmanager problem. If you have extensions that you use and trust, you will need to reinstall them after the clean. A computer restart maybe required after so make sure any unsaved work is saved and closed.

- Go to: Adware Removal Pro for Mac

- Click "Free Download" (The Mac Store link will cost you)

- Once downloaded and installed, quit Safari

- Open Adware Removal Pro

- Greenlight Safari and "Remove Adware from your Mac"

User uploaded file

- Finally click Clean

I did not get prompted for upgrade to complete the clean so this will hopefully be fast, easy and free.

Enjoy your day!

I suggest you do NOT use the above recommended 'Cleaner' under any circumstances. The fact that it is a relation to an App store app is not a recommendation. If you dig in the search box of the forums you will see why I write this. My recommendations above are the only apps recommended for macs by the senior members here, that means members way above myself.

Just so readers know: I have no intension of bringing harm to your Mac, I simply posted what I had to do for the fix to this problem and had no problems with my system since. I had a senior advisor from Apple Support run diagnostic tests after these steps to make sure nothing was damaged or corrupted and came up clean and no faults anywhere.

Please ignore my previous comment as I am unable to report or delete it myself and follow instructions by Seventy One that are supported by senior members to ensure your devices safety if you do not wish to take risks not supported by them.
