Wake Sleep failure with macOS High Sierra 10.13.1 on iMac Late 2012 with OWC Mercury Extreme Pro SSD 6G

Hi,

I have an iMac 21,5'', Late 2012, model 13,1, with two 2x8 GB Crucial RAM and an SSD OWC Mercury Extreme Pro 6G of 1 TB. On this SSD I never had any OS installed. I installed macOS High Sierra 10.13.1 and I get always an error telling me that the iMac restarted and from the report I see that it is a Wake Sleep failure. This normally, not always, happens after a long sleep period (my iMac is ON 24/7).

Now I made the downgrade to macOS Sierra 10.12.6 and no problems until now. No Wake Sleep failures messages! There is any issue related with APFS and OWC SSD Mercury Extreme Pro 6G firmware?

Thanks,

I believe there's a issue with sleep/wake period with High Sierra. I don't believe it's your hardware as you've proven by downgrading to Sierra. And I have proven doing the same.

I have sleep/wake issues with a 2014 Mac Mini running macOS Server 5.4. It won't sleep at its Scheduled time and same is true with wake. Under Sierra, sleep/wake works as expected. Maybe Apple will get this right with 10.13.6 or whatever their final update to High Sierra will be.
