Same problem with IPhone 5SE. The phone is brand new. Tried the Forced restart. My problems seem to occur on the borders of the screen, like if there’s a dead frame around it. Sometimes it works if I keep pressing rather hard f e closing a webpage. Sometimes it’s reacting 2-4 mm away from were I press the screen.
Have you dropped your phone any? Dropping the phone can cause the screen to become unresponsive even if its a minor drop.

Yes my ph was dropped but there is no crack on the screen. So will it require screen replacement? Any suggestions??
I've dropped my phone a few times. I have never encountered this issue. My phone is in an Otterbox Defender case.
I have an iPad Pro 10.5 and my screen has been terribly unresponsive after the 11.1.2 update as well. Just wanted to throw my reply on this thread.
As i have installed latest OS 11.1.2, my iphones touchscreen gets unresponsive most of the time.. i had to lock the iphone and then unlock it to make it work. Is this because of OS 11.1.2
