accessibility on Mac - siri no longer open safari to do google search

Until recently using the accessibility features when I asked Siri to do a web search, it opened up Safari displaying my web search.

Now after a recent update it no longer opens Safari but instead Siri just lists suggestions within a Siri window .

Because I am blind and unable to see the screen, siri opening Safari was ideal as it allowed me to interact using the accessibility features on the Mac.

Does anyone pease know how get siri to do a search using Safari like it used to be rather than been integrated within siri?

thank you

Helen
