MBP Space Grey vs Silver regarding eye strain?

For someone who gets eye strain, which color is best? The space grey/gray is less distracting and helps focus on the screen (Mwhich correct me if I’m wrong, couldn’t that be a bad thing? Or is that good?) silver, on the other hand, can reflect light (which, correct me if I’m wrong, might be good in dim lighting but not so good under bright lights). I’m looking for second opinions or results or ideas, etc. I just got my MBP space gray in the mail the other day and am not sure about it. I have a week-and-a-half to return it in order to swap it out. All responses will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi,

The display is so much brighter that the color of the small area of the MBP you see will make no difference at all. Plus, the display will be pointed directly at you, while the body of the MBP will be angle away from your line of sight. Stick with the Space Gray if that's the color you prefer, and if there is some tiny bit of reflection from the display or ambient light, then the SG will help to mute it more than the silver.

The MacBook Pro is notebook computer optimized for light weight for portability and able to run on batteries. It incorporates MANY compromises to meet theses portability requirements.

If you need to use a computer all day long, and especially if you expect vision issues, you should buy a computer optimized for your vision requirements, NOT a computer optimized for portable use.

A desktop computer will be easier to arrange ergonomically, at the best distance from your eyes and the best angles, and may have a brighter, less vision-taxing display. It will also have a better keyboard, which can be placed independently from the screen position.
