Playing back recorded sound is tinny and echoy

Posted in this section as I couldn't find anything more relevant.

When I record anything from YouTube etc it sounds perfect whilst recording. However, when I play it back it is very "tinny" and "echoy".

I've played it back through various software (ITunes, Movavi Media Player, Audacity) and they all sound the same.

It was some time ago I last did something like this and didn't have a problem.

I can't see it being the speakers as just playing audio is perfect, it's only playing back recorded items.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks for that Dominic.

Gave it a try but it made no difference.

However, I did load up a different recorder, Leawo Music Recorder and the output is as it should be.

Audacity and Quicktime still produce the same tinny sound.

The only difference was that the track I played back originally was .wav and Leawo recorded it as .mp3

I would think it has to be a software issue because of this as, previously, I never had an issue no matter what program I used.

Very strange.
