Question: High Sierra Update stuck while installing

Dear Apple Community


I got a question regarding the High Sierra update.

I downloaded the update and wanted to install it. After the restart it showed an error message that not everything could be installed.

So i clicked install again and now it's stuck while calculating (approximately an hour).

So now I wanna now what I should do now? Restarting? I don't wanna risk that the macbook isn't booting anymore then.

I hope somebody can help me

I see that you're getting an error message when trying to update to the latest version of OS on your MacBook Pro. I can understand your concern, and I'd be happy to help.

Let's have you try to reinstall the OS. Make sure you have a backup first. The following links will guide you through those steps:

If this issue still remains after trying to reinstall, reply back with the answers to the following questions:
1. Which OS are you updating from?
2. Are you connected to your home Wi-Fi network or a public or work network?
