Issue with Preview

I recently downloaded the new operating system mac0S High Sierra 10.13.1.

The problem is that when I try to scan in several pages that I want to save or print together, each one opens in a separate window instead of the same window with thumbnails of each scanned page.

I wish to print or save as pdf all the pages I have scanned in.

I have changed Preview options to save all scans the same window, but to no avail.

I also installed High Sierra a second time.

I am awaiting a call back from someone in customer service for help. The rep to whom I spoke was going to consult with "engineering."

Has anyone in the community come across this problem? What, if anything, were you able to do about it?
