calendar email notificatons

I am using iphone 7 with ios 11.1.2

I have google email & calendar on my PC.

I want to receive email calendar notifications/alerts when I create a meeting, event, etc using my iphone calendar app.

Is there a way to do that.

(I thought I was doing that with ios 10, but could be wrong)
